Frequently Asked Questions

The manual scrub wand is a good cleaning tool for cleaning lightly soiled carpet. When cleaning more heavily soiled carpet, the wand becomes a ‘beast of burden.’ Cleaning results depend upon the strength, stamina, and technique of the person working the wand. Cleaning heavily soiled carpets with a scrub wand is ‘hard labor.’ The repetitive motion of scrubbing back and forth is extremely strenuous and fatiguing. An individual can not scrub long enough to effectively clean your carpets.

First and foremos,t the Rotovac 360i that Carpet Cleaning ER uses is an electric power scrubbing tool. Comparing the Rotovac to a wand is like comparing a skill saw to a hand saw.

We have converted a back and forth manual task to a much easier and more efficient rotary mechanized operation. Which makes more cleaning passes per minute than is possible with a manual scrub wand. In addition, the cleaning passes are from all directions rather than just back and forth. This is what produces better cleaning results for you.

Most carpet cleaning companies still use a Carpet Wand to clean carpets. But at Carpet Cleaning ER, we use a state of the art Rotovac 360i carpet and tile cleaning equipment, which uses a multi directional scrubbing action so your carpet fibers are clean from all not directions, not just 2 directions that a Carpet Wand is limited to. Please see the Dare to Compare video on our website.

What you can expect your cleaning technician to do:

Pre-inspection: We will evaluate your carpet’s needs. Every carpet must be treated differently. We will decide what will be the best method for cleaning your carpet. You will know up front what we can and can’t do. This way there are no surprises.

We will move small, lightweight furniture, but our Techs will not move large furniture pieces, such as buffets, china cabinets, pianos, dressers, due to our insurance liability.  All larger pieces of furniture moving is the responsibility of the customer.

If you would like our team to get behind certain pieces of furniture, we will be more than happy to do this, if you move these types of furnishings. Additionally, if you pre-vacuum your carpets and inform your tech the day of your appointment, we will deduct 10% off of your total bill!

Pre-treatment: We treat spots and stains as necessary and apply a cleaning solution to the entire carpet. Please note: Some stains may have penetrated the carpet fibers for too long, and may or may not respond to our cleaning removal process.

Cleaning: We use our state-of-the-art Rotovac 360i equipment for a fast and thorough deep cleaning of your carpet. Customers LOVE the clean they get with this equipment. If desired, we will provide Scotch Guard Protectant to the carpets for a nominal fee. Just let your Tech team know when he arrives for the appt.

Post-inspection: Once the project is completed, we re-inspect the carpet with you to ensure that all the work was done to your satisfaction.

Protect & Groom: When necessary we will place blocks or foil under furniture legs to protect them during the drying process and groom the carpet for a clean inviting look.

What you should do after the carpet cleaning:
Usually your carpet will dry in 1-3 hrs, depending on the area, and the access to ventilation, and the thickness of the carpet fiber. Most often it is dry when our Techs leave for their next job. To decrease drying time try to keep the room temperature about 72 degrees and use fans to circulate the air around the cleaned carpet.

First, let’s define a “spot” and a “stain”: a spot is any foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) that is removable by standard cleaning methods.(The foreign material is on or around the carpet fiber) A stain is foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) on carpet that is not usually removable by standard cleaning methods. (The foreign material has penetrated ‘soaked into’ fiber and has changed or damaged the fiber itself)

Some stains may be very difficult or impossible to remove and we will do our best to remove the stain, there are some cases where the stain has already damaged the fiber barrier and cannot be removed. We are quite successful in removing alot of stains, including paint in the carpets, but all stains affect carpet differently, and some stains are impossible to remove.
